Depending on who you read, the accepted stat on the number of commercial messages the average consumer is exposed to DAILY is between 3,000-5,000 messages. As a marketer, how do you cut through all of this noise in the marketplace? It's a question that has nagged marketers and product manufacturers for at least 250 years.
“Advertisements are now so numerous that they are very negligently perused, and it is therefore become necessary to gain attention by magnificence of promises, and by eloquence sometimes sublime and sometimes pathetic.” Amazingly, this was stated by Samuel Johnson in 1759. Wonder what he'd think about today's commercial messaging?
